AV Duo

AcidAktiv, composed of Pauline Kess and Max Volume, forms a duo of multimedia explorers dedicated to push forward the boundaries of artistic expression through an interplay of audio, visual, dance and installation design. Based in Berlin and co-founders of Kollage Kollectiv, they are motivated by a strong desire to explore creative territories. They work with all kinds of medias to build interactive installations and experiences.
Their audiovisual collaboration revolves around exploring new techniques for expressing sound through images and movement; and conversely representing images through sound or dance. Seeking to form expressive and innovative dialogues, their unique approach is based on programing dynamic connections between different media together through networks, but also in analogical ways.

The Performance

AcidAktiv presents an immersive audiovisual live performance where music becomes the call and visuals the response. Their work reflects how encounters with environments and subjects shape them artistically, touching on themes of nature, urban life, dance, environmental crises, and astronomy. The performance balances structure and improvisation: a narrative of predefined themes is expanded through live invention. Each show moving into uncharted territory, it becomes a reflection of their emotions in the moment, shifting from deep and contemplative to dynamic and vibrant.

Interconnectedness

Sound & Visuals
Using Elektron devices, synthesisers and TouchDesigner to build a network system, sound and image are deeply connected, creating a synesthetic dialogue that constantly evolves on stage. Their visuals combine abstract forms with real footage gathered across countries and cultures, layered with experiments in effects, coding, and technology.
